Treat your #MethodMonday evening to some mellow moods. One of my favorite songs of all time: First Snow by Emancipator (4:33-5:12) May The Fourth Be With You ✨
It's a subtle section. Not a grand finale per se, but almost. It's the same progression with the slightest change in approach, building it up and pulling it back, layering and deepening it until it opens up in the third iteration for a final movement, bookended by sage and ingeniously utilized vocal samples, taking you on a journey through the world it paints for you. It was a direct inspiration for The Grind that I made back in 2013. It helped me break through a difficult period of my life and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I've taken this with me around the world. Though sun, rain, grief, snow. When I was first introduced to it by Scott and Skyler, it was during a time in which I was forced to slow down after being set back by health problems. I dove harder into my studies and spent my days reading copious amounts of books and strumming sad, bluesy, soulful songs on my guitar. But unable to move how I wanted, I was stuck, trapped in my own mind. What it took was a day on the beach and painting on the walls of Stucco for the world to open up. I could see clearly again. This means more to me than just music. It's life perspective. Friendship. Love. The inspiration to draw, to write, to visualize, to tap in. Panther Beach will do that to you. The world may be a cold pace to live, but above the clouds are blue skies. Thank you Emancipator for planting those little tomato seeds of hope 🙏🌍
